10 Killed, 25 Injured in Bus–Pickup Van Collision in Bihar’s Katihar

At least 10 people were killed and around 25 others injured in a tragic road accident in Bihar’s Katihar district on Saturday.

According to police, the incident occurred near Gerabari under the jurisdiction of Korha Police Station when a bus collided with a pickup van on National Highway-31. The collision was described as severe, leading to multiple casualties at the scene.

Superintendent of Police Shikhar Choudhary confirmed that 10 people have died so far, while several others sustained injuries. The injured were immediately provided first aid and shifted to nearby government hospitals for further treatment.

Police teams reached the spot soon after the accident and initiated rescue operations. Efforts were also undertaken to clear the road and restore traffic movement on the highway.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the condition of the injured, some of whom are reported to be in serious condition. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over road safety on busy highways in the region.
