Chandigarh:In a move to honour the spiritual legacy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the Punjab Government will name a 13.15-kilometre link road in Patiala district after the ninth Sikh Guru.

The announcement was made by Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian today in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, in response to MLA Gurlal Singh Ghanaur.

Minister Khudian explained that the road connects Rajpura to Sehra and continues from Sehra to Akkar village, where the historic Gurudwara Nimm Sahib is located. He said the state government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to honouring the Guru’s legacy. The formal notification will be issued once administrative procedures are completed.

“The formal naming will take place immediately upon receipt of resolutions from the concerned Gram Panchayats, followed by the official recommendation from the Deputy Commissioner, Patiala,” Khudian stated.

The minister added that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s sacrifice for the protection of dharam, humanity, and freedom of faith continues to inspire generations.
