India extended their dominance in junior cricket on Friday, clinching a record-extending sixth U19 World Cup title with a commanding 100-run victory over England at Harare Sports Club. Captain Ayush Mhatre led the team to their third title in four editions, underscoring India's unmatched supremacy in the tournament.

The win sees India pull further ahead of Australia, who have four titles, as the most successful nation in U19 World Cup history.

Sooryavanshi's Record-Breaking Blitz

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who turns 15 in March, delivered one of the greatest batting performances in U19 World Cup history. The left-hander smashed 175 runs off just 80 balls at a staggering strike rate exceeding 200, hitting 15 sixes and 15 fours.

A stunning 150 of his runs came from boundaries alone, setting a new record. Having already made a name in IPL 2025, Sooryavanshi confirmed his status as Indian cricket's hottest young prospect.

India Post Highest-Ever Final Total

India amassed 411/9 in their 50 overs—the highest total in any U19 World Cup final. Key contributions supported Sooryavanshi's brilliance:

England Fall Short Despite Falconer Century

Chasing an improbable 412, England were bowled out for 311. Caleb Falconer's fighting 115 and contributions from Ben Dawkins (66), Ben Mayes (45), Thomas Rew (31), and James Minto (28) proved insufficient.

RS Ambrish claimed three wickets while Deepesh Devendran took two. Kanishk Chouhan, Khilan Patel, and captain Mhatre also contributed with wickets.

India's Unprecedented Dominance

India have now won six U19 World Cups and appeared in six consecutive finals. After losing to Australia in 2024, they reclaimed their throne in emphatic fashion.
