Manjinder Singh Sirsa Warns of Crackdown on Polluting Industries, Offices Violating Work-From-Home Rules

Delhi minister says factories will be sealed without notice and private offices face strict action as over 2.12 lakh PUC certificates are issued under GRAP Phase IV.

Delhi Minister Sirsa, during a press conference, warned of strict action against polluting industries and private offices violating work-from-home directives. The minister warned private companies to adhere to the 50% staffing and work-from-home rules. He said that strict action will be taken against such offices, while polluting industrial units will be shut down.

Strict action will be taken against polluting factories and industries

Sirsa said that polluting factories and industries will now be sealed without prior notice. He added that action will also be taken against industries that have not applied for the mandatory Online Clearance Management (OCM).

212,332 New Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificates Issued

Minister Sirsa said that over 2.12 lakh new PUC certificates have been issued in the last four days following the strict implementation of the fourth phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). He said that 212,332 new pollution under control (PUC) certificates were issued till late night on December 16. During the same period, around 10,000 vehicles failed the mandatory emissions test.
