Bihar Revenue Department Transfers Two Zonal Officers After Staff Caught Taking Rs 4.1 Lakh Bribes
Revenue Minister Sanjay Saraogi enforces zero tolerance policy as Vigilance Department arrests officials in Madhubani and Sasaram land mutation corruption cases;

The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has taken seriously the arrest of the Zonal Inspector of Jaynagar Zone of Madhubani while taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh and the Data Entry Operator of Sasaram Sadar Zone while taking a bribe of Rs 1.10 lakh. After the arrest following bargaining by the employees in Madhubani-Sasaram regarding land mutation cases, the Zonal Officers of both the places have been reprimanded. Zonal Officer Sudhir Kumar Omkara of Sasaram Sadar and Zonal Officer Kumari Sujata of Jaynagar have been deputed to Patna Headquarters. The District Magistrate of both the districts has been ordered to depute another officer in place of both the officers.
On Saturday, May 24, the Data Entry Operator of Sasaram Sadar Zone was caught by the Vigilance Department team of Patna while taking a bribe of Rs 1.10 lakh. At the same time, Zonal Inspector Ajay Mandal was arrested by the Patna Vigilance team in Jaynagar, Madhubani while taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh.
Circle Inspector Ajay Mandal of Jaynagar had demanded a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from the land owner for mutation of two kattha land.
Vigilance DSP Sujit Sagar had said that CI is not the only one involved in this. Revenue employees and officers are also involved. Which is being investigated.
At the same time, data operator Akash Kumar Das working in Sasaram Sadar Zone Office was arrested by the surveillance team while taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh 10 thousand. Pankaj Kumar, a youth from Pratapgarh of Sasaram, had informed the surveillance that in a case of mutation, despite the order of DCLR, the Zone Officer of Sasaram was not doing the mutation. In return, a bribe of Rs 1 lakh 10 thousand was being demanded.
Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Shri Sanjay Saraogi said that the state government has a zero tolerance policy towards corruption. Corruption cannot be tolerated under any circumstances and in any form. Shri Saraogi said that both the zone officers have been removed from the zone offices and the entire matter is being investigated. Instructions have been given to take strictest action against them.
